Go horseback riding on the scenic, wooded trails at The Cabins and Campsites of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Beginning July 13, 2024, horseback riding will be temporarily unavailable Monday through Friday at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, due to construction. However, rides may be available on Saturdays and Sundays during this time. Check the My Disney Experience mobile app on Friday to see if horseback riding is available for the upcoming Saturday and Sunday—and if available, reserve a ride.

Giddy Up and Go

Guests 9 years of age and up can ride through an idyllic woodland teeming with deer, ducks, armadillos and rabbits. This trail ride is perfect for beginner and intermediate riders. Horses will keep a steady walking pace as we explore the natural beauty surrounding Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds.

These 45-minute horseback trail rides are $65 per person.

Advance reservations are highly recommended, as availability is limited.
Reservations can be made on this page or with the My Disney Experience app up to 60 days prior to your visit. Same-day reservations and walk-ins can be made on a limited basis and are subject to availability.

Important Information

  • Please check in at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch building, located near the front parking lot of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at your reserved time.
  • Reservations are recommended and closed-toe shoes with a back strap are required.
  • Riders must be over 48 inches tall and weigh under 250 pounds. Weight will be verified.

Know Before You Go

  • Horseback riding is a physically demanding recreational activity. Horses by nature may react if frightened or agitated during the ride. You should be prepared for sudden stops, starts or movements by the horse at any time.
  • You are required to maintain control of your horse and always follow guide instructions.
  • Riders should be in good physical condition and free from neck, hip, back problems or any conditions that could interfere with your balance or any other conditions that could be aggravated by this activity.
  • Helmets are required and provided for all riders regardless of age.
  • All Guests must sign a waiver prior to the ride. A parent or legal guardian must sign for participants under 18 years old.
  • Participants must be 9 years of age or older and at least 48 inches (122 cm) tall.
  • Participants must weigh under 250 lbs. and Guests of certain body shapes or sizes may not be able to participate. Weight will be verified on a scale at the time of check in.
  • Recommended attire includes shorts or pants and a comfortable shirt. Shoes with a back strap are required. Skirts or dresses are not recommended.
  • Complimentary lockers for your belongings will be provided. Nothing can be carried while on horseback.
  • Please check in at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch building near the front parking lot of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at the reservation time.
  • Allow up to 1.5 hours to get to your destination when traveling within Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Trail Rides may be cancelled by Disney due to inclement weather but do occur in rain and cold.
  • There is a 1-day cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if a Guest cancels within one day or fails to show up for the reservation.
